What is Fantasy Song Pitch?
Fantasy Song Pitch is built around the question, “if I could pitch one of my songs to any artist, who would it be?”. Many songwriters live outside the major metro areas for music - including Nashville, Atlanta, LA, New York, and London. As such, these writers will most likely never have the opportunity to pitch their songs to the artist they want.
At the same time there's not many writers who haven't heard the words, “your song would be perfect for __artists__”. Fantasy Song Pitch bridges the gap from far away places with little hope of notice and the ability to pitch a song to those artist by providing a unique and fun 'Fantasy' type game.

How does it work?
Just like in real life, the goal of the game is to 'pitch' your song into competition against all the other songs pitched for a particular artist.
Each time you "Ask a Question" you are pitching a song (Is my song right for this artists?)
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Subscribe to become an Author member ($4.99 monthly).
2. Click on the Pitch Your Song/Ask A Question Button
3. Title your question/pitch with the TITLE OF YOUR SONG
4. Choose the artists Category from the drop down (who you're pitching to)
5. Click Upload Media and select the song you'd like to pitch (we want the song at the very TOP)
6. THEN Fill in the lyrics, co-writers and all other pertinent information in the box under the song code
7. Post your pitch
Of these songs, votes from visitors will be counted and the song with the most UP votes and comments will be chosen as the winner on a monthly or rolling basis (starting soon!).
In addition, from time to time we will hold category (pick an artist or all around) competitions with some great winning prizes like cash, gift cards, musical instruments, studio time for recording, personal coaching from hit writers, and more!
RULES OF THE GAME
1. You MUST own the copyright to the songs you have listed in this competition and it MUST be
an original work of art. (Once a song is written it is covered by copyright law and the writers of the
song own the copyright) In other words, NO Covers, NO exceptions.
2. ALL writers of the song must be given proper credit.
3. You MUST provide a lyric sheet with each song entry.
4. Songs are “fantasy pitched” to artists based on the artists category.
5. If you have a song that would be right for multiple artists, you must pitch the song to each artist category individually.
6. The title of the Question (ie. Pitch) is the TITLE OF YOUR SONG.
7. If it is a “general” question about the artist and not a pitch, please write “GENERAL: your question” and fill in the box.
8. SHOULD we wish to pitch your song to an artist, we will first notify you by email with our
desire and a simple agreement stating that IF we are successful on your behalf and get the
song cut, we get the publishing to the song. If the song does not get cut, we own nothing and
have no claims. If you choose to not sign or agree to this in writing, we will not pitch your song
but will wish you the best in your career!
9. We reserve the right to amend the rules without notice.

How are songwriting competitions chosen?
Songwriting competitions are chosen by category (ie. Artists or General).
There is no set schedule, pre-chosen categories, or number of competitions.
Songwriting competitions may be in the Pop category, or Country category, or whatever - even in the General category, it just depends, and you won't know until the competition is announced.
At times, several categories could have competitions happening at the same time (which is very likely).
Check back often to see new competitions to participate in!

How many songs can I pitch?
Unlimited! However, only * 1 * song can be pitched in a question at a time. This is important: If you're found to have posted multiple songs in the same question, you will be banned. If you have multiple songs for the same artist, each pitch has to be separate from the others.
Can I pitch the same song to multiple artists?
Yes! Remember, the pitch is by the artists Category. For example, you have a song that is perfect for both Faith Hill and Ashley McBryde, you must upload the song in two different categories (one for each artist).
What can I win from entering a songwriting competition?
Prizes for various songwriting competitions in Fantasy Song Pitch vary. Sometimes the winner will receive a musical instrument. Sometimes the winner will receive a gift card from Amazon or Musician's Friend. Sometimes the winner will receive recording equipment. At other times it may be studio time.
How are votes counted?
Votes are counted by both UP arrow votes and number of comments added together (down votes do not count).
Who determines a tie in a competition?
The FSP editorial staff will choose the winner of any tied competition.
Do you really offer a publishing contract on winning songs?
Yes! From time to time we will offer a single song contract on a song.
What kind of publishing agreement do you offer?
We offer a fair publishing agreement wherein you assign the publishing rights to your song to Fantasy Song Pitch. Songwriters and songs will be offered a publishing contract which last a period of 2 years at our choosing. Each contract has a reversion clause built in so we don't own your works forever – unless, of course, we secure a cut on your song. We highly encourage you to have legal counsel look over the contract before signing it.
Am I really pitching my song to these artist?
No. We are not affiliated with any artist or artist representative. You are participating in a fantasy type game based on real life circumstances in the industry.
Do I need to have a full demo of my song in order to participate?
Song demos do not have to be fully recorded and can simply guitar/vox or piano/vox – however, just like in the real world of pitching songs, the better the quality, the better results you'll likely receive.
What is the best way to get people to come and vote for my song?
We encourage you to tell all of your friends and co-writers to come vote for your song first. Co-writers are especially important because they have a built in network of others who are interested in songwriting. Your friends just want to see you succeed (as do we!). After you speak with those in your close circle, it's important to utilize other social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others to promote your song and try to get votes.
When will artist X have a competition available?
We try and update our artists frequently as demand requires. Rest assured, each and every major popular artist will eventually have a potential competitions category on Fantasy Song Pitch.
Why do you charge $6.99 monthly to become an Author member?
There are several reasons:
1. SPAM - One small step for man, one giant leap for less SPAM! Having to pay something so small as $6.99 (less than a Starbucks coffee) cuts down on SPAM tremendously, and we want our members to have a great experience here, without the headache of spam post cluttering up (and bogging down) the system. Paying $6.99 monthly ensures there is a "real person" behind the song pitch.
2. It helps us maintain the servers and the website (ie. pay the bills).
3. It contributes to the prize pool for special competitions.
4. Did we mention it's less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks?
